Matthew "Matt" Murdock, also known as Daredevil, is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer-editor Stan Lee and artist Bill Everett, with significant input from Jack Kirby, he first appeared in *Daredevil* #1 (April 1964).
Blinded as a boy in an accident involving radioactive materials, Matt developed heightened senses and radar-like abilities. He uses these extraordinary skills to fight injustice both as a lawyer during the day and as the masked vigilante Daredevil at night, patrolling the crime-ridden streets of Hell's Kitchen.
Fueled by the loss of his father, a boxer murdered for refusing to throw a fight, Matt is driven to protect the innocent and uphold the law, often blurring the lines between justice and vengeance. His Catholic faith and complex relationships contribute to his internal struggles and shape his actions as both a lawyer and a vigilante.
